Nevile’s Court sits behind Trinity College’s Great Court, a little oasis of calm whose elegant loggia owes something to Brunelleschi’s Florentine buildings combined with the idea of the medieval cloister. I have focused the image on the regularity of the four-bay motif, without the visual ‘distractions’ of the medieval hall at the east end or Christopher Wren’s monumental library at the west end.
